Thanks for sharing this tips on how to remove search conduit. It was really annoying to have this hijacker on my browser.

thumbs up!!

Nic Oatridge - December 28, 2012

Thank you so much for helping me get rid of this annoying software. Not only is it obstrusive, it kept on causing my browser to crash. If people want to provide useful add-ons, they really should make them easy to uninstall… and too useful to want to. Conduit fails on both counts.

Thank you for this useful and thorough removal explanation. We ended up with this on our brand new all-in-one last night after downloading UTorrent. I managed to uninstall and get it out of Firefox and Chrome last night but didn’t think to check Explorer since we don’t use it. I’ll go through the steps tonight and make sure I’ve rid myself of every trace. Seriously UTorrent?! How about a legitimate toolbar offer without the check boxes and accept/decline that tricks people into accepting the download?!

Thanks,a lot!! That’s really amazing as it works. I have managed to get rid of this annoying stuff software following your guidance. I am not very smart as far as computing is concerned.

I got this by opening a Download.com download and then exiting it (before anything was to be installed). Ridiculous! This is absolutely a virus, every bit a much as Scareware (fake virus scanners)

Alex - February 11, 2013

Than you so much for the collaboration in this matter. :)

Emily - February 21, 2013

This was extremely useful and worked very well in ridding my laptop of this hijacker. Thank you!

Teresa - March 1, 2013

Thank you sooooo much. This was easy to follow – after doing everything you said, I still had it coming up on my IE page. But I went back under tools and even though I had done everything else, it was in the box for my home page….so changing that there took care of the rest of it. I hadn’t noticed it there when I went in to change the default settings…Thanks again!

Thanks so much for this guide. It helped a ton. The Walmarebytes scan didn’t catch it, but your step by step guide for each browser did the trick. Thanks!

Cindy - March 27, 2013

I also downloaded a program from Download.com and think that’s how I got this annoying and intrusive program!! I ran a full virus scan using Norton and it found it and got rid of it. Otherwise, I was going to try the steps you provided.

Rayne Storm - April 4, 2013

Thanks a lot. Other websites gave similar instructions, but lacked a few steps. This one did it for me. Cheers!

As an 80 year old, kindergarten standard “computer illiterate”,thank you for banishing conduit, and restoring to me my Beloved GOOGLE .COM , my wife thinks I am a genius, but it was YOU, no doubt about that !!! ALL anyone has to do is just follow your instructions, I have proved that

Joe - May 8, 2013

Can it spread outside of the browser

hiten - May 22, 2013

Big Thanks & again thanks for your step by step guidelind

Shaz - August 17, 2013

I followed the steps to uninstall conduit but it managed to elude me. Now my laptop won’t start at all saying a critical driver is missing or corrupt (partition) and I’ve just realised, after reading this thread, that I also had a Babylon toolbar which I removed with some other unknown program’s without knowing this too is a virus… I’ve given up. No recovery discs and no product key for my windows.. :(
